Hi everyone

I´m new here so if what i´m am going to say has allready been told,...please forgive me. (I allready used the search, and found nothing)

So let me share something very simple but that allready "saved my life" a couple of times.

For opening unlocked doors, instead of a credit card, I use X-Ray paper beacuse its very hard, resistent/flexible it allows you to pass those L angles without loosing force.
This kept me from sleeping in the doghouse a couple of times

I would imagine that 'x-ray paper' is a thick acetate. Nice tip for those not in the know.

A great tip; I work in a hospital so X-ray film isn't too hard to come by. I've tried it on a few internal doors at home successfully. Can't believe I didn't think of it myself (bangs head against wall)

The easy way is to ask your dentist

If the dentisit takes full mouth x-ray he should have lots of that (they ruin one "picture" every now and then).

X-Ray paper is a lot thicker than overhead prints.

What other common materials are good for the credit-card type of bypass? What is the cheapest material that you can get in large amounts and does the job well?

I have made a very good tool out of some low melting point plastic, which melts at 60C. I stretch it into a thin ribbon and can make the thickness and width variable so where it will be more confined it can be made to be more flexible.

It certainly works better than anything else I have tried, and if it breaks you jus warm it near the break and fix it again.
