Re: Video problems on LSS Demo Disk

Even the demo disk of LSS seems to have some video on it.

When I click on the links however it seems to be a mp3 file with only sound .....

The files with LSS201 are refering to the extra disks that come when you pay for the whole package.

Could some one please tell me if I have a missing codec or are these files only audio.

First question, and to be nosy is where did you get a demo disk? Second is no you are just like the rest of them with the demo disk.
For the best book out there on high security locks and their operation, take a look at amazon.com for High-Security Mechanical Locks An Encyclopedic Reference. Written by our very own site member Greyman! A true 5 Star read!!

Yeah, I can't get mine to work either - folio view won't load it, weird....

It might be an avi file, in which case wmp would only play audio. Try opening it in divx or another AVI player, that might work.

try installing the k-lite codec pack...it'll allow you to play most vids... http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm

First question, and to be nosy is where did you get a demo disk? Second is no you are just like the rest of them with the demo disk.

It was fairly simple ....

I got my demo disk by going to www.security.org and requesting it.

Shortly after sending a letter on company letter head with a copy of my business card I received a 9X6 manilla envelope with a copy of the 1st CD in the LSS series. ( As a property manager I have a separate company that does our in house locksmithing ..... )

I am self taught and (currently) only do work for our properties ....Never the less, according to the laws of the Province of Ontario, I am as much a legal locksmith as anyone else in the trade.

In fact it seems that any jacknapes can hang out their sign and call themselves a locksmith as there are no licensing requirments in Ontario. I cut keys, change and install locks, rekey and repair locks and from time to time have to pick a lock or two when keys have been lost .. (Tenants have been known to change the locks themselves and then come to the rental office hoping that we can let them in when they lock them selves out.)

And ..... for those interested ...... yes , its not a problem with a codec or improper player ...... most of the files are in fact , only the sound track from the video clips. (refering only to media files on the 1st CD)

In order for folio views to properly play the multimedia files windows media player or an equviilent program must be installed and properly configured to the demands of Folio Viewer.
