i suggest you stick that padlock in your pocket and next time you pass a locksmith shop just go in and ask them to open it for you.
tell them you are doing a project for school (if your in that age group ) or just tell em the truth.
i don't see what you've got to lose !

How old are the locks

The ones I ended up opening for tasty where about 3 months old one of thamster pins had flipped .: preventing the cylinder being rotated

Tasty, do you have any rake picks.
I recently bought one of these locks (does it have the IC) and i found if you hold it upside down, using less tension then normal (if you practice on just the cylinder normally) you can open the lock with about 10 strokes of the rake pick. The first time I opened mine, it took 30 strokes. But you will ge it.

Yes, it appears when you have the removeable core 234/45 lockwood padlock, it is easier to open it when it is upside down.

But its easier when using a diamond other than a rake.

I can understand drilling in an emergency but if you have to do reykey, just shim it open, It didnt take me years as a locksmith to figure that out just a week or 2.

A lockwood 234/45 is not shimmable as it contains a ball locking system.

And to rekey one you have to have it open so that the removable core can be removed or you have to have cut the screw holding the core in.
