Thanks for the hint, Tiny. Discussed that very same method about a week back. Have pretty good results with it, but I still want to learn to pick them conventionally.

I don't think that would work on a Medeco. Have you done it?

Unless your Medeco is all no angles..than I can't see how that would work. Without something to actually turn the pins, I would think they would just all get caught on one of their false grooves/holes (depending on design). Also considering that Medeco locks in some cases lack top pins...using only a sidebar, I cant see this method being particularly useful for the vast majority of these locks.

Cheers tiny. I was about to suggest that. I have recently run into some master pro series and some american locks. Actually I think american was recently purchased by master. They both have the spool pins and are tough. It should be noted that the older master locks have a rounded spool driver whereas the new ones have a flat spool making them harder to pick. What I find is the best pick for them is the rotary pick. Usually something around 18 V and 1/4 inch diam.
