First impressions... it looks good!

If you can raise a single pin at a time with it and it is strong enough to give good feel (and not brittle) ... It should work fine for you.

However, we cannot easily judge the scale of it. Perhaps take a picture of it sitting across a coin or a key.

There are plenty of pictures of picks (ie ball, rake, snake, diamond) in the various threads here. Do some searching on homemade picks and you should get some hits along with descriptions of each type.

It'll work fine. You may want to refine it later, but for now it'll do.

Ok I scanned it next to a quarter so I hope that helps a little.

The angle looks good. Personally that would be too tall of a hook for me(in most situations).
If it works for you, then leave it alone. :)

I agree with Robert. Your hook looks to be about as tall as a kwikset keyway. I can't imagine a scenario where your would need a hook that tall.
Other than that it looks good.

I like the small hook better then the long one. I would cut a little off.

You know, i think that might be a perfectly good hook to have as part of your arsenal, but I suspect that because of the length of the hook iteself it will not be called on that much once you have some shorter, smaller hooks. But you've gotta start somewhere, so good work!
