the small half diamond is my favorite or second favorite (next to the hook)... I'm a single picking kinda guy.

What is the width and height of your pick, if you can measure it, any pictures?

Also, I am thinking about making wiper blade picks, any pointers on where I should look other than a junk yard (about 45 minutes from here, not my first choice).

Thanks

My pick is the standard southord small half diamond. There are many pictures of that pick on this site.

I get my wiper blades from walmart. $4.00 gets me enough material to make 10 picks or tension wrenches. :D

Why buy the wiper blades? Check the trash bins outside of auto stores. Most people just change the wipers in the parking lot.

Technically that is stealing.(unless you have the trash can owners permission).

Not to mention the potential for illness when sticking your hands in a trashcan.(you never know what you might get poked with)

IANAL and I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, but my understanding is that garbage that's been put out to curb is fair game -- you're not trespassing and nobody owns it.

The cans(and everything in them) in front or behind an auto parts store have not been put out to the curb and are owned either by the store or the trash company.

They may not care if you go through them, but if they do care, they can have you arrested.

Personally, I can't see going through trash to save $4.00. But I do not care if you do it. I doubt you would get in any trouble. :D

True, that's their property anyway. I wouldn't advise mucking in anything that hasn't been put out.

You can normally use standard SouthOrd.com picks for these provided you make a torsion tool that has only a small hook at the end and then using the torsion tool at the opposite end of the keyhole than normal. This is what I do.
