opinions re: best lock lubricant?

Before you get an angry customer for covering their frame and clothes as they brush against it in wd40 how about switching to a silicone spray? If the customer asks about it you just point out its whats in most furniture polishes and no dodgy stickers are needed.It wipes clean easy enough leaving and is kind on draught strips and window rubbers.
When you mentioned that sticker all i could think of you have been watching that moody batman film that was made years ago where he pulls out a can of shark repellant. You guessed it, it had a huge label on it saying " shark repellant"

funny, i was pretty sure that wd-40 was a silicon based spray, i remember reading it on a can one day,
unless that was inox? i dont think so though

The WD-40 people do a silicone based lubricant, but this is different than Plain Old WD40

Almost every cylinder lockout i go to the customer has soaked it in WD, i tell them not to do it and tell them exactally what they should use, car dashboard cleaner (silicon spray type) is better than oil, went to one the other day and she had filled it with sewing machine oil as she had used the full can of WD on the front door and run out for the back, it was funny though as the back was a legge deadbolt and someone had taken all the spacers out, the only reason it was sort of working is that the key was slipping and just getting the right levers, i cleaned the lock and sprayed it with ptfe and it didnt work, put some spacers in FOC and it worked perfectly,
