Hey guy, I have 2 situations I'd like to discuss with you today.
1. I have a best padlock here which I have picked and removed the core; I just repicked it so I can now put it back in the lock... Hah, I've had it out for a while, no one's noticed though. Anyway, I need fast and reliable access to this lock. Will a padlock shim work easily and reliably? I don't want to have to keep picking it. I don't want to go to a locksmith, but if I have to I might. I'd be interested in impressioning, but I don't know what type of key blanks to guy, nor where to buy files and the like. If someone can link me to a site that sells files for cheap, please do. I might just buy a full set of best keyblanks from http://clksupplies.com/shop/index.php?cPath=120_127 since it'd be around $7 anyway, then from there purchase more. So summary; how well do padlock shims work, and how easy are they? Honestly, i'm not very good at picking and I was quite surprised when the IC came out.
2. Lets say theoretically that there was a large set of BEST door locks being used. Lets say I had access to as many normal keys as possible, but I wanted to make a high level master key. Would it be possible by simply comparing normal keys? Would I be able to do it (maybe something I think "Matt Blaze?" does) by using my key, cutting getting duplicates cut except for one pin, then filing that down until I found the master location, then eventually making a final key out of all my newly discovered pin heights?
Thanks
