hmm... the brickstrip is usualy bigger than the keyblank, so you file it to the same size as the blank to make a perfect replica.
Yes it does work! I have done it personaly... In fact my Squire shed padlock, and a cylinder on my pickboard are both operated this way (lost the keys

)... i copy every key i have onto brickstrap so I always have a spare... it's free, you can get lots of it, and is fast
the only issue is complicated wards on locks... but i have found that with a bit of patience the brickstrap can be bent into the right shape for the lock...
a bit of duct-tape on the handle with a hole in it makes for better carrying, or you could just drill a hole into the metal and just sand it...

O yeah... and it works just like a normal key : put it in, turn it
place a piece next to the cut key, and copy as closely as you can... it took me 4 minutes to do two of mine, but this was the first time, and I wasn't sure.. now it's much faster...
