I am a soldier in the US Army. I have decided to learn picking because of how many times it would have been useful in my last deployment I just came off. During my year in Baghdad, I can count atleast 26 times where picking would have been highly effective for my missions. Plus, I also think I might be able to turn a profit on my post with all those drunk soldiers locking themselves out of their rooms on the weekend. Hope to find some interesting and helpful people here.

Doesnt the US Army usa medeco locks on everything it has?

Your going to have a very hard time with picking those.

Yes, but I don't think they've gotten to refitting all the locks in Baghdad yet. I think that was more his point.

Hey ever one what is going on? Ive been lurking around for a few days and understand alot stuff. I searched for this but what are some good sites to buy picks? I made a half dimond but it broke last night along with my tension wrench. I think I messed up the temper of the hacksaw blades. Yhankyou for your help and I love this site:)

I wonder if this is some modern form of middle english. If so, Neat-o!!

Here is an example of middle english from the 17th century. You Brits should recognise the importance of this document:

Just thought I would post a quick intro of myself as just joined this forum.

Im looking into taking a course in locksmith and come across this site.

I have been interested in locks/picking since I got a couple of books on the subject by David De Val (Escapologist), as I have been interested in magic from a very young age.

I would be interested in hearing from anyone in the Swindon/Witshire/Gloucestershire area who shares the same interest or can possibly help me out with pointing me in the right direction of getting in the locksmith trade.

Well, here's my introduction.

I'm 16 and a junior in high school. I've always had an interest in being able to get where other people can't. Lockpicking is one of those things that makes it possible. I also like climbing trees and buildings to suprise people.
I've looked at making my own picks so far, since my dad has rather a lot of tools for metalworking. So far I just have a tension wrench and a small half-diamond, but I'm intending to make one more pick in the near future.
