If it ain't broke.....pull it down and see how it works anyway!
I sugest that if your going anywere to buy something to make into a plug follower that u just go to a locksmith shop and buy a real plug follower. I think I payed like $2 canadian for mine and its already the right shape and size and has a handy little slot to line your sping and pin up both at once.

Different cores have different follower heads. You'd probably need about a dozen to cover the main rekeying jobs.
Some things may be pick proof, but everything can be bypassed....
