Hi all! I guess I should post here now that I'm going to be fairly active on the forum. So, let me introduce myself.
My name is Eric, 27, Scorpio, Single, Looking.

I'm from Chicago but currently reside in the desert town of Socorro, NM where I'm attending the college of New Mexico Tech. This is a DOE/DOD funded institute which focuses much of its attention on explosives and anti-terrorism sciences.
I've always enjoyed picking locks with paperclips since my dad taught me when I was 8, and so I've come here to expand on this skill with real pin and tumbler locks.
I hope to make lock-out calls a side job while I'm going through college, and am even considering teaching an elective class at NMT on Locksmithing. Most of my posts in the comming months will be requests for reference materials such as books and instructional videos with wholly rounded information going beyond basic picking techniques. Some of the information I'm interested in are lock specifications and keying standards, including measurements of pin depths and how these differ from manufacturer to manufacturer. While I'm learning the art of lockpicking, I will be writing notes for my own course guide to teaching it. It's my goal to see Locksmithing taught in accredited institutions rather than "As Seen On TV"
colleges.
Anyway, thanks for having me. I'll see you on the forums.
