Well, its true. The spacing is the same... So, what good is the 7 pin pick?

And, im also wondering if anyone can help me.

I just got my southord tubular picks (I ordered the old brass ones, and then read that they suck :() and im wondering how do they work? Im trying to pick a bike lock that I bought to play with, and Ive tried the methods listed here for hours. and I even made a key out of the pick in a very crafty way.

I took the key, and my 8 pin pick, and pushed all the pins into the grooves, and then held the 8 and 7 end to end, and pushed the 7 pins down to the proper depths, and inserted it into the lock, and turned, and nothing happened. Im just wondering, if the key has a notch on it, does this notch just prevent the key from comming out, or does it provide tension?

If it provides tension, then do I need something extra while im using these picks?

Thanks guys.

So, I need something extra to pick tubular locks, and not just the tubular pick?

Would a paperclip work? If I could get one bent into a nice shape, maybe i could just feed it into the lock as it turns...

Ill try it.

I've tried picking an ACEII lock with my southord 8-pin, but the small black pin on the inside of the pick makes the picking pins miss the lock's pins. What should I do? I can't figure out how to [re]move the pin inside to make it fit the lock like it should.
If the gates of heaven have a lock, I'll pick it. That'd be the only way I'm getting in.

Well, ehenever you get a chance to post the video, I will greatly appreciate it.

Im gonna be gone for a week, so maybe youll have one by then.

Im going to michigan for the week. Gonna bring my picks, I think.

I thought I knew how tubular picking worked, I had a good idea of it in my mind, till my picks came in the mail... tiny things, lol.

Then I realized that I know nothing about this at all... I havent picked anything so far with them... very frustruating. And, to top it all off, my confidance lock is toast... my friend got an electric lock pick... and the pins are so loose now, I cant seem to get it to work anymore... need a new one.

Anyways, I gotta pack some things, i leave tommorow for a week.

Ill let you all know if Ive made any progress... lol.

Bye!

Talk to southords? Try to find another 8pin lock? Include photos? Just a few ideas off the top of my head.

Cormu,

That video was absolutely amazing...much better than the first one you did. The lighting in the first was a little dim but this last one was just perfect. We are able to see everything very clearly and you make it look very easy to pick those tubulars. Hopefully I'll be able to pick them that quick! :) Thanks for taking the time to make the video and I'm sure you'll have many compliments on it. Keep up the excellent work!
