The control pin must be lifted either before rotation(which in my experience is not possible when picking) or just very slightly after you have picked it and only rotated a fraction of a degree. These can be a pain to pick to control for sure. I actually have a couple of unican locks that the local lockie dropped off for me to remove the schlage LFIC cores from today.
Vector40 is right, the control pin is always lifted a the same height across all locks. If memory serves me correctly, this is a 6 or 7 cut on a control blank. These blanks are expensive, but if you have one you can easily copy it onto a 6 pin blank in a key duplicator by cutting slightly into the bow of the key. I have done this and it works very well.
Another method you might try is bumping with a bumkey cut on a control blank. That will probably be the easiest method that I can recommend to you as it can be a pain to pick these to control as I mentioned before.
