another question...i've got several master combination locks with key holes on the back....does anyone know waht the key holes are for...ive picked them...and they turn both ways...and ive applied a great deal of pressure and the lock still won't open...so i was just wondering if anyone knew what the key holes were for

keyholes are for opening locks. (duh)
but seriously, they are for
a) opening locks and
b) in some combo locks, resetting the combo. such as in school locker locks, insert key and follow instructions for resetting/changing the combo.
most likely in your case (i am assuming they are master) they are keyholes for opening, when the plug turns, try pulling up on the shackle at the same time and see if it opens it then.
*additionally, i ahve disassembled some master combo locks without a keyhole, funny thing though- all master combo locks have a space for a keyhole plug to be installed at manufacturing. just funny i thought. oh well.

i finally broke the masterlock apart and i took out the cylinder lock. its pretty cool looking inside.

Pull on the shackle. They don't pop open like keyed padlocks.

im sure, i cut the cylinder open after that, only 6 pins(tot), and 3 springs.
