I decided to post this here instead of on a new post because really... who needs another dudley thread...
I was Bored the other day so I found a dudley combo lock that I had lying around without a combo, so I decided to cut off the back of it and see how it worked. so after a couple of cut off disks on a dremel this is what i got.

so I looked and found the combo the easy way.

I started wondering what I could do to open them since shimming them open doesn't work (and it doesn't give you the combo.)
I realized that from the part of the shackle that doesn't pop open (left side) you can slide in a feeler (I used those security tag metal strips) until it touches up against the locking mech and the first dial.
Now you turn the dial in the normal direction until the feeler falls into the notch.

The number that is on the dial is your first number give or take a few "lines"
you repeat the same thing for wheel two.

now that you are at the last wheel the easiest thing to do is just turn and pull the combo lock until it opens. (it is possible to get the last wheel too but the fact that it is only an indent and not a full notch makes it harder.)
and If all goes well it should pop open.

Some hints
Sometimes you wont see the feeler move but you will hear a nice little click that tells you that the notch lined up.
This isn't one of those "anyone can do it within minutes" methods, to get the feel for it you have to practice on locks you know the combo's to.
A little extra information:
the first 2 wheels each have a fake notch or two in them, you can avoid them by positioning feeler along side of wheels intead of the top.
The last one looks like a gear from a clock, thus making feeling more of a pain in the arse.
I have tried this method both on an older model of the lock (cutaway one) and a new one I bought the other day for this purpose. And they both allow this method.
So Good Luck to you all. And Tell me if this method actually works for other people.
