Has anyone tried picking a Lockwood Padlock?(its an australian brand for the people who live in aus) I got one that is about 3cmx3cm and is bronze.

I think that you will find that most guys that live in Perth
either:
a) make their own picks from hacksaw blades: or
b) order from lockpickshop.com otherwise get a set of SouthOrds from
people that they know online that live this side of customs.
(not that I think that is an issue anyway, we are more concerned about
fruit crossing the borders, than guns and drugs and stuff LOL).

And yes, Lockwoods are decent locks to pick. I believe that overseas, they have a 'Lockwood' too, but not the same quality (or company).

Get yourself some hacksaw blades.
Go to Red Dot or the TwoBuckShop and get a set of wiper blades.
The metal strips in those are awesome for tension wrenches.
If you do a search for 'Bogota' you can make a set of those from wiper blade strips too, without much filing.

Go to bunnings and ask for a bench grinder.

How much will that cost? Would a file work as well???

Files will work, though sharp files are the preferable choice.

Grinders make filing look like a waste of time, when used properly will make the look as good or better than your filing job.

Grinders can cost between $20 and $250.

Lock wood picked

Postby Wolfy » 18 Jul 2006 20:11

Ive some sucess at picking lockwoods, Problem is only 75% of them ive tried.
I work at a place thay there are heaps of locks are floating around so ive tried quite a few.
Raking is a good method with a half diamond.
Also working on individual pins with the same tool also worked.

lockwood

Postby greyman » 19 Jul 2006 15:32

I've rarely come across a Lockwood I couldn't pick. Of course it depends on the profile, some of the security profiles are hard, but the basic 5 pin lockwood is easy access for picks.
