The most basic fact of the matter is - if you live in Europe - get a slimline set. If you reside in the States, go for the standard set. Some European locks tend to have less accessible keyways...
If you get a normal set, you still will be able to pick the vast majority of the European locks, but every once in a while you will stumble upon the slimmer ones...
Obviously, as the slimline picks are slimmer, they're more prone to bending...
What I would advise is to try to make a few picks on your own, get the feel, get some practise, and then order a set. Otherwise, you might quickly ruin your commercial picks...
