You can buy both blanks, and factory-original pre-cut keys, on ebay.
Usually, the sellers of the pre-cuts are locksmiths, unloading the piles of pairs that start to accumulate in the shop over time. I buy a bunch every so often, because even though I have a good key-cutter, (with a sharp wheel,) some locks, notably Schlage, really like factory originals when you're rekeying them, so I always prefer using Schlage factory cut keys whenever possible.
I don't accumulate as many Schlage keys as I used to, because I prefer to install good quality, off-shore-made generics these days. Once-upon-a-time, Schlage used to make a fair-to-middling, residential-grade deadbolt, called the B160. It started to tinker with the design, and came up with a piece of junk called the B360. It's been a disaster. (Except to the locksmithing trades-people who come to fix/replace them.) Yet Schlage continue to fiddle, hoping to resolve the problems.
Anyway, The sellers of blanks, (they seem to sell them in boxes of 50 or more) seem to be regular sellers, and if you don't want such a large number, say only ten or so, I'm sure you could arrange a private sale with a buy-it-now deal.

I have no problem selling blanks to walk in customers at my shop. And I don't charge cut key prices either. I think we charge about 1.25$ (Canadian) per blank, for the common ones like SC1 and WR5. It must be a decent price for this area, because both area hospitals plus a few other large establishments with their own cutters walk in a few times a week for 50 or more.

The guy who wanted to charge you cut key prices is either greedy or retarded (or both!). Its not like he had to do anything other than throw them into a smaller box.
