This training course is conducted in partnership with the Associated Locksmiths of America (ALOA). Graduates are awarded the Registered Locksmith (RL) designation through ALOA.
The six-day hands-on training course is designed to train a completely inexperienced person for entry-level employment in the field of locksmithing. This is a security related growth field offering many employment opportunities. Students are encouraged to research their local yellow pages and contact their local retail locksmiths to determine potential employment in the area. Additional employment opportunities can be found in larger institutional locksmith shops such as schools, hospitals, factories, and corporate office complexes.
Professional experienced locksmith educators will instruct the class. All student materials and course supplies are included. The student will learn how to:
* Identify and duplicate keys
* Service pin and disc cylinders
* Read key codes
* Master key basic systems
* Impression keys
* Service and install locksets
* Identify and install cabinet, furniture, and mailbox locks
* Identify and install exit hardware and door closers
* Incorporate life safety codes into lock designs
* Open locks with picks

Course Tuition:
$995 (Course subject to enrollment minimums/maximums).
