defcon, schmoocon, hope conferences. in euopre you have CCC and the toool , they are mostly meetings and such , semi casual, not so much a seminar.

the last 2 years it has been very hard to get in, you have to know someone to get invited, i heard its inviation only, its at a small basement in a hostel, not much room and hundreds of people want to go.

Getting into a lockpicking workshop might be kinda hard...and expensive. You could always try TOOOL's videos, they've got 2 or 3 workshops that you can learn a lot from without actually being there.
