Need Help Soldering

Doubt that it will work

I think you are using electrical soldering materials, these will not bond spring steel together. When people say "silver soldering" thay do not mean traditional soldering. Typically the solder you need comes in rods, not spools, and you would need a torch. I would suggest the JBWELD idea, or epoxy glue.

I didnt think of that gostone. You are right. If you are going to use rolled solder make sure it is silver bearing solder. Other than that, you need to be buying silver soldering rod.

Although, you can solder most spring steels with an appropriate acid core solder, this is not suitable for flexible joints. The correct solution is a mechanical joint ...of which there are many choices. Consider the previous suggestions such as spot welding (leave discoloration), an appropriate epoxy (not my expertise) or perhaps even a couple of rivets.

Some of my picks have stainless steel handles and are riveted.

A visit to a metalcraft hobby shop should put you on the right track.
