Is it just me or have we all gotten much nastier lately towards a lot of newbies that doesn't search? I'm guilty of it too of course.

I would honestly say im not guilty but we have been getting some REALLY stupid posts lately, especially in the last few days.
And this is not me saying this is one of them. i haven't picked this lock so i wouldn't want to advise.

Ditto on those remarks about stupid posts and those newbies. I can't say that I am not a novice myself but for the past week I have seen many many many posts that either doesn't make any sense or that have been answered in numerous FAQ's already. Or both. I have also seen Shrub locking up like quadrillion topics the past week because of that. Seems like some other forum has been announced of the excistance of this lockpicking forum and the wacko-kids are all rumbling over our precious locks...

I frequent a lot of different forums and from my experience the popular older forums that have a large number of users tend to have less patience with new users that post the same stupid questions over and over again. I guess after you have posted the same answers to new users over and over again and that those answers are in the Stickys and new users FAQs.

Can't we just plain out delete them off the site? It's getting cluttered up in here.

Mabye we should ease up a little. It's probably bad when the first words in a post are "many of you are prolly mad at me". Scared before they ask anything.

No.8 is a 4 pin laminated brass padlock. Standard M1 keyway. Shouldn't have any security pins. How much picking experience do you have?
Everyone else: We may be harsh on newbies, but remember, not everyone who asks that hundred thread a week question has enough grasp of terminology (or the grasp of something approaching spelling) to search. I would say this is a small minority, but we should be aware of them.

Get a Master lock you can repin and start with DB's newbie guide; remove all but one pin stack and spend a week picking it until you understand the feel, then add a stack and spend another week feeling out binding order, etc. until you've added all the stacks and feel comfortable with the lock. Then switch the pin orders around randomly.
