I just completed a transaction with www.BayAreaLocks.com. I don't tend to write a lot of reviews for companies I deal with, but in this case the service was so remarkable, I felt it only fitting to tell you guys about it.
Selection and pricing seemed pretty good to me. I purchased a couple Arrow deadbolts with Bilock cylinders. The site is very nicely designed, clean, and functional.
But where they really shine appears to be in the service end of things. Immediately after placing my order, I received the typical automated order confirmation. That was just before 11PM last night. By around noon today I received a personal message from the site owner informing me that my order was being processed. He did notice a slight irregularity in my order, though. I had ordered two deadbolts, but each had a different backset. In reality, this was not what I wanted, but it was my own fault. It was an oversight as I was placing the order.
I quickly responded (thank you Blackberry) that it was my mistake, but I wanted both to have the same backset. In less than an hour he responded that the correction had been made. Were it not for his attention to detail and willingness to follow up with me, I would have received a lock that would not have fit - and it would have been entirely my fault. Big kudos there!
Before the end of the day today, I received another personal email from the site owner informing me that my product had been shipped - with confirmation number - and a promise to follow up to inform me when the package cleared customs.
All I can say is... wow! Grade A service! He recognized an issue, addressed it, and got the whole thing shipped out in well under 24 hours. Can't beat that.
Based on this experience, I'd recommend this site to anyone.
Cheers!
