No it does not have security pins. It has 4 pins and is easy to pick. If you want to know what is a security pin then search. If still you cant find what a security pin is ask again.

ok I have been having trouble opening the tri circle 262 lock. It feels like I have all the pins set, but it still doesn't open. Any one know if it has a safety pin or not?

oh, and what about the schlage BR-260?
It's the old lock we had on our house entrance door. Is that too difficult, and does it have safety pins?

Don't know about the Tri Circle lock because I've never dealt with them but with the Schlage, it could have a couple spool pins in there. I had a very old Schlage deadbolt on my front door years ago and it had security pin in that one. All the new ones do I think.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

from past experience and from what i've read on here all tri-circles have mushroom pins.
some very experienced lockpickers even have trouble opening them so maybe put that one to the side for a while till your more experienced at picking security pins.

Your not setting the pins obviously or else the lock would open he he he,
Its not in nappies so it wont have a safety pin lol the terms are anti pick pins or security pins, the differant types of pins can be found elsewhere on this site,
Firstly, you are useing more force on your wrench to overcome the padlock locking spring? the tension you put on a ,ock to pick it is very light compared to the tension required to opne most cheap padlocks,
Secondly, yes its highly likely that you lock has spool pins in it and you are in fact false setting one, search on how to know this as i type it out everytime but basically a falsely set one will move the tension back on itself when the false set pin is pressed,

well either you are turning it the wrong way or the only place you are setting the pins are in your head

HAHAHAHA Nice UWSDWF.
If there are no security pins in it Prolox, maybe you're just getting false sets. After you think you set them, try going over all the pins, and pushing each pin up a bit higher (assuming there are some undersets). If that doesnt work try giving the pins some firm rakes. With my Kwikset that happens a lot (well at least used to happen). I would feel like I set all the pins, but I'd have a couple underset, and then I'd just give the lock a quick firm rake, and it would pop open.

ya i read up on the lock and it turns out that the pins have false set points...a simple rake with double half diamond did the trick thanks =D

hmm i still haven't opened that little lock. I think it might be because my tools are too big and i don't have much space to work in the lock.
I opened the schlage deadbolt though, it had 4 spools and 1 normal.
