anyone have a template for a set of warded padlock picks ?

I used the search and found remplates for a few pick but does anyone have them for a set of warded padlocks ?

is this template an outside trace or an exact size?

if the lock in question is laminated the template is based on the thickness of those laminations, you need a T with the cross piece no thicker than a single lamination, and then you need a couple more, with two cross pieces, each as thick as a single lamination, and the space between the two cross pieces should be equal to two laminations, and another one with two cross pieces with the space between them equal to three laminations width. there is no need for any tip above the T cross, no t shaft extension past the cross piece. even if it is in the commercial picks, thats just there to try to make it fool proof, but its totallly unnecessary.

Yeah the templates are nice but how can i make them into working picks?

Copy/Trace/affix templates to metal.
Shape to template.
Open locks.

is there anyway to make them from windsheild wiper inserts?

Doubtful unless you have very wide inserts. I would go with hacksaw blades, if I didn't already own a set of these.
