I do have a question for all involved in this thread. I was putting an padlock back together and it was suggested to use grease to hold the ball bearings in place so while I put the core in they don't fall out of their chambers.
Is there a grease locksmiths use for this? and is it available at the local Home Depot or DIY store? I'd rather not use WD40 since its so runny, and I know enough to not use powdered graphite for the actual lock lubrication, just for the keyway.
I do like LockSaver but at $12 a can its expensive.
