I'm studying CS with little experience in projectmanagement.
As for design-patterns, choose whatever you like just remember to keep focus on the interfaces.
Don't expect sf.net to do work for you, especially coding or gfx. Nobody will give a sh1t (excuse me) about your project, unless it's really highprofile. I think that's clear to almost all of you thou. Best place for recruiting coders, gfxers, .. is this website.
There are some errors on the project homepage (eg. the projectname now has 4 letters

) and the logo is awesome.
If you need someone for testing, feedback, ... i'll be happy to offer my time and linux boxes.
Maybe I'll join the project in my summerhollidays, no promise on this.
