Pretty kickass snapgun

Postby Anarchyvocals » 16 Jun 2004 13:55

I was bored as we were driving up to our vacation destination, so I pulled out some stuff and made a snapgun from one of those click-pens. After I got home I went and opened some locks, and it works allright.

What you need:
1 click pen
picks that can fit the ink tube

WHat to do:
1. Take the pen and open it up. Take out the ink tube and cut off the tip about a 1/2 cm above the ball pen.

2. Slit the tube both sides about a half cm

3. Assemble whats left minus the cap.

4. Take a pick and put the cap over it

5. Slide the pick into the tube as far as you can get it.

6. Screw in the cap

7. Use

This is pretty cool. Just put the pick by the pin you want to set and click it a couple of times while applying the usual torque. THe only problem is getting picks that thin. I found its hard to use soft small diameter wire. My suggestion (and what I did) was to take the bought kind with handles and simply file the handle away so the extended tang fits snugly in the ink tube.

Happy pickings

I tried it with my knee. It didn't work. It couldn't pop fast enough to do the job.

I doubt your ankle is any better.

I was trying to make a snapgun.

BUt it wont work like it. It still is pretty good as it will rake open a lock faster than you can by hand.

Let me get 1 thing straight

There are 2 of us lurking on this

my lil bro who made the "snap gun" that was really an automatic rakeing thing (he has my p/w, so he gets on every once in a while)

And theres me, a guy who actually knows what hes doing. The intellegent responses are mine.

He was the one worried about buying picks from south whatchamaplace

I was worried about the cops would do if they saw me with picks

He uses hammered down nails with the tips filed out of it

I use picks from southwatchamaplace

So dont scold me, skold him

Perhaps you both need a different profile and name then. How are we expected to differentiate between two different people using the same name? Scold yourself for allowing yourself to be impersonated.
