Ultra rake!

Postby AndreasK » 23 Nov 2007 10:07

i was surfing the web and fund this "Black&Decker Handisaw CHS6000"
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc20 ... hs6000.jpg
and it struck me. All you need to do to make this an ultra rake is to remove the steel bar thing
and grind the blade into a pick shape. so i edited the photo into this

http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc20 ... hs6000.jpg
you will be able to make loads of blades to :D.
i coverd the name i fear of angry lawmen.
so do any of you think it works??
I picked the lock of life and unlocked the world.

I think the motor will be way to powerful for an electric pick. It will damage the lock.

For the type of rake that is in the lock I agree that it will be very hard on the lock.

I recently bought an electric pumpkin carver and have been experimenting with it as an electric rake. It's movement is about 3/16 of an inch back and forth. I made a pick very similar to the one in the photo and it tends to catch the pins and lets just say, its yanks them. If I take the sane pick and get it right at the bottom of the pins it works fairly well.

I plan on making some different pick styles to experiment with. I think that a rake similar to a bogota might work better or maybe something with very small notches that were rounded off (inverted shallow peeks)instead of sharp peeks might work very well.

Here's a photo of the pumpkin carver with the attached rake. If you can find one it will be a lot less expensive to make. The blades in mine are not replaceable so I found a way to attach any pick I wanted.

for less power try putting a potentiometer (POT) in series with dc power. This way you could adjust the flow of power to your liking.
