there was another one where someone let his friend have a go and he got picks stuck in a door down the street. there should be some kind of age or IQ restriction on picks. possibly some kind of morality test, like ask minors if they want to buy booze with the picks.... then again I would have failed the one.... and possibly the IQ test as well....

I like the idea of teenagers going to military school. Parents don't teach them respect anymore, they need to learn it somewhere.

haha, i would probably fail the iq requirements as well
Zack --- IQ 129 <--- TRUE!!!
on a more serious note, i read above "this morality thing is coming from a bunch of people who could potentially break into something" or some dumb comment like that...
first off, your retarded... put on your helmet and go play on the swingset!
second, shut your mouth, who are you to judge us
third, lockpicking is a hobby and or career
that about covers it!
Love,
-Zack

I imagine that back in the 60's or so, people in the US who were interested in practicing eastern martial arts faced the same sort of societal prejudices that we do currently. They may have been subject to comments like:
"This morality thing is coming from a bunch of people who could potentially go nuts and beat up innocent people!"
Today, this would be considered a very ignorant viewpoint because people understand now that the martial arts stress responsible use of their skills as part of their training. Nobody thinks that they are training to become thugs anymore.

If by any chance the poster of this thread is still reading this and didnt actually leave, and this lock turns out to be a wafer lock. To pick it back, well at least on my wafer lock. You can apply opposite tension to the way it was picked open, then you only need to pick the first wafer.
I don't know if thats a lot of wafer locks or some or just mine. But you do need to pick all of the wafers to open it.
Any ways if they are still around to read this, and the lock turns out to be a wafer lock, this might help.
One more piece of advice, dont ever pick that lock again, or any other locks in use or that aren't yours. (Sure this might be getting repetitive, but if some one that does not belong to this site tries to look up how to pick a lock, hopefully all these constant reminders might ween them away. Probably not, but maybe )

I don't know...... since you live by the "don't randomly shoot Taser guns at people", what are your views of emergency room doctor's that use shock-paddles to restart patient's hearts?
That was the dumbest analogy I've ever seen.
No one in their right mind shoots people with tasers as a hobby and then associate a doctrine and monthly/weekly meeting with it such as the lock picking clubs.
Even then, defibrillators and tasers serve two different purposes, both hobbyist and locksmith alike have the same usage of a pick: to pick a lock.

I don't pick locks as a hobby. I pick locks as a job. Last time I checked, this website says "lockpicking, locksmithing, lock and picks" at the top and not, "Hobbyist lockpicking, hobbyist locksmithing, and hobbyist locks and picks". and to think, I thought you had such potential. but clearly you dont understand what were all about here, or the fact that locksmiths are legally entitled to pick a lock because that is in their job description, just like a tow truck guy can slim jim your car door because its part of his job. so stop making irrelevant comparisons and examples just to make some point that makes no sense.
It's not irrelevant, especially when many states have laws that restrict the usage of "burgularly" tools to professionals and not to hobbyists and laymen. I thought you were a hobby picker like the rest of us, not a fuk1ing troll.
get with the program, shut the f_ck up and go pick some locks.
Well assuming makes an ass out of you in this case.
