Recently I saw a short on youtube that had some guy "picking" a tubular lock with a tubular key that appeared to have broken bobby pins attached around it for every pin. The guy gave no explanation for how it was made and in the video he appeared to pick the lock just by turning the key until the lock opened.
It gave me an idea though. I was thinking maybe a pick from a tubular key. You could shave all the depths away and attach broken bobby pins in their place with a hose clamp or something. Pick the lock by pushing each binding pin down with it's corresponding bobby pin, then once the lock is picked tighten the clamp so the bobby pins do not give way and use like a regular key (perhaps even cut a new key from the depths).
What do you guys think? Am I onto something here? Or should I scrap the idea? If there is any interest I will try to find the video again and post it.
