I need help with this one guys.Assuming I have a cylinder and i dont know wich type.first of all can i know the type and the key to it,second of all can i make a key to it and the master key if i have more cylinders of the same type.

Help me understand what exactly you're asking.

Do you have spare locks for which you need to determine their keyblank, then rekey them with under a masterkey system? If this is the case let us know what kind of locks they are, and post pictures if possible, including the keyway. If you can't do that, describe the locks (including the brand name if it's on it) and let us know in what area you live as that may give us a clue what type of locks you have. If this is what you're trying to do, it can be easy depending on what kind of locks they are and whether you have the right equipment. If you don't have the right equipment, it'll be cheaper and easier to have a locksmith do it.

Or do you have some locks which you want to decode and determine the masterkey for system which they already use? If it's the latter, you may have to post more information here before someone will help you since people might want to be sure you're not trying to compromise someone else's masterkeyed system for eeeevil purposes.

well intheory most things can be done -- making a key blank is not ease you may need some type of milling M/C
and it depends on the type of key . Thats why I asked for a pic of the lock

The definitive answer is maybe.

If it's a newer Medeco lock, the keys are patent protected. Different locksmiths will have access to different blanks for the various keyways, but even if you find a locksmith with the blank you need he's not supposed to make duplicates unless you have the authorization card that came with the lock.

If you have a Medeco lock where the keyways aren't restricted (usually older locks), you can decode the lock by disassembling it and looking at the pins and then make a new key. Compared to regular pin tumbler locks, it's kind of a pain to do this with a Medeco so it definitley won't be cheap.
