this is my work key. i have never seen a key like this. this is a picture of it. not sure what the cuts on the side do. any info would be sweet

Cool, now that I have a picture of the bitting and sidebar for your work key, can you post the name and address of your workplace?

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

To answer your question though, that's a key for a Schlage Primus Everest high security lock. The cuts on top are like on any regular pin tumbler key. The cuts on the side are for finger pins that control the sidebar. They are a very hard lock to pick. Distribution of those keyblanks is restricted and copies can only be made by the locksmith who set up the system. Even if it were a regular, non restricted Everest key you'll still not find many locksmiths that stock the blank for the C245 keyway. It's generally only used in very large, multisectional master key systems.

Just another note, not accusing you of anything, but if you try to copy the key the locksmith will need verification that you can (signature of who owns the lock, and it better match the one on the card the locksmith has) or he will call your workplace and report you trying to make an unauthorized copy.

Well i dont need to copy the key its mine so i could go there anytime i wanted. but i understand the the copying thing. i just have never seen a key like that. so does the key have 2 sets on pins>?
