Well, i've introduced myself here before and i've been very lacking on my participation on the site lately but there have been a bunch of things that have been going on with me. I'm sure many of you (all of you) don't really know me but i'd like to change that as soon as possible.
I would just like to say that i have been given the opportunity to become a locksmith apprentice and assuming that the paperwork and the references come through i'm going to start in the north conroe/spring/woodlands area of texas.
in short, i just thought i should take the time to try and re introduce myself to the community.

Hi,
Short story why I'm here:
I am currently on a sick leave from work, because I worked too much, couldn't sleep properly and had very little or no recreational activities during my day. I worked every hour that I wasn't asleep, exercising or eating. I worked as a general manager for an IT-company, and as a consumer banking consultant, and running my own small real estate company, and I was studying for my graduate degree at the same time.. Obviously I exceeded my capasity.
I picked my first lock yesterday using two small paperclips after seeing a video on youtube. It was so satisfying!
I bought some tools and started making my own picks today, though I find it quite difficult to make them small enough for our narrow european locks.
I would like to thank pyro1234321 for the educational video on making lock picks, giving me a great start!
Later I would like to share my experiences with European locks and tool making as I progress, and of course learn as much as I can from experienced forum members.
Life is what you make it

Welcome everybody,
For all thoes new to the site and lockpicking, LP101 is a great place to start.
Take a look at the new users section, first and don't be afraid to ask any questions just remember to try a search before posting. Cause everyone should HYSF as well as there Pick-fu.
If you're looking for locks to pick, buy some but, DO NOT PICK LOCKS YOU OR ANYONE ELSE RELY ON
I repeat DO NOT PICK LOCKS YOU OR ANYONE ELSE RELY ON, they can and will break, then your house/car/safe/chasity belt is vulnerable or unable to be opened (think: emergency situation).
Keep it legal.
Cheers,
UWSDWF

Hi, stumbled on to this site after trying to find out how to open a window lock that the key was broken for. After a couple of tries i managed to make a rough pick out of an old hacksaw blade and it worked!
I found it interesting so will now try an old Yale lock next. I also have to try and get a snapped key out of another window lock so will look here for advice on that.
Many thanks

Wow it seems as though this thread has just died. But nonetheless I will introduce myself. I am a lockpicker enthusiast who currently resides in Perth Western Australia. I have been interested in locks and security systems and everything inbetween for about 2 years now and have picked up a few usefull skills. I am currently seeking an apprenticeship as a locksmith and hope to start up my own business upon completion of year 12 this year. I hope to learn great things from this site and I think its great that so many people have contributed such useful information for a somewhat small group of people who just really love locks ahahah. Well I hope to enjoy my stay.
Regards,
Osin

Hi, I've been picking for a while, but I'm new to the forums. Every now and then I write up a guide or white paper on the topic.
If it's not overly self-promoting, here's a link:

Sorry about that link. I guess it was out of place. Thanks for being so prompt about it though, admins. Hard work keeping up with the boards!
