Is This a Strange Question to Ask About a Master #3?

Hey I was wondering if there was anywhere on the web I could get specs about the Master #3 Padlock. Part sizes and pin spacings would be good; blueprints would be better. Is there anywhere I can find what I'm looking for?

No its not a strange question, on the other hand, I don't have your answer, but someone here will help you, or you could learn what you want to know by examining some keys and destroying some locks.

thats interesting .. I copied my set from 2007 Instacode.. it looks like your's came from the Framon manual .. Just my opinion but the Framon manual is probably the most accurate.. good find !

I wonder if that is one of those " misprints" to see if they are stealing the info and reprinting ?

Either way .. the master M1 cylinders have a lot of slop , and either of the specs should work just fine .

2) Is there a way to get measurements of the plug? I need the length of the pin cavities (what are those called?).

Yes, you would first need to disassemble the lock, take out the plug, pull the core out of the housing, remove the springs and pins, measure the pins with a micrometer.

once the plug is removed, measure it. Pin chambers.
