Hello,
I have been looking at this site for a few days. I am interested in learning locksmithing for the trade aspect of it. I am currently a Machine Controls Engineer and well, jobs in our industry are become few and far between. I still have my job, but would like a back up plan. I am currently taking a couple correspondance classes. It seems like that is a good place to start, after reading this site. I also am doing a lot of research on the internet, espicially this awesome site.

Hey guys, my name is Will and I'm extremely new when it comes to lockpicking. As a kid, i always thought it would be a cool thing to learn to do, because i love the sense of triumph when i accomplish something and i have a bit of time to kill. I'm in my second year of college, and willing to learn whatever i can through this site.

Hi everyone! I'm Marco, 21, law student from São Paulo, Brazil. But, still, the handyman of the family, so lockpicking would be a great skill to learn. I`ve always wanted to know about it, but never had where to ask. Plus, it seems to be really interesting to practice (I love tools, so my favorite part will probably be the making of picks - after having the lock opened, of course!). Oh, and my English is kinda rusty, so I`m sorry for mistakes (there, you have been warned!).

greetings to all-
found this site after watching jk the cjer beat the m3 on youtube. as a registered locksmith in california (LOC 9063) i want to congratulate him on the high level of technical aptitude demonstrated. i was further impressed when i discovered the interview with mr tobias. this will require further reflction, but i would like to extend my thanks in advance. i hope to have joined an active community, and only hope my meager 11+ years of experience can contribute.
-best wishes.

Hello Everyone, I've been registered for a few weeks now but so far I've just been browsing and reading.
Last month I bought a small pick set and I've successfully picked all the door locks on our home. So far, I haven't had any success hand-picking padlocks. But I was able to shim several with a floppy disk, and I picked one of my "high-security" gun padlocks with a home-made electric pick gun (made from some hair cutters).
I've also been able to pick a few tubular locks with a home-made tension wrench (from an Allen wrench) and a lifter pick. Anyhow, its been fun and I look forward to improving my skills.
Thanks for all the great information!
Sola Fide, Zach Doty

Locks are very interesting mechanisms to me. My goal is to learn as much about them as I can.
I also like guns.

Cheers.
