Took me a good 4 hours to figure out how to put the protec core back together and decode the key/discs in order to get my lock working again. At least I had fun and learned something new in the process. Its a very simple yet ingenious design this lock.
Welcome to my world xD
I've cut 15 of these bad boys now. Out of those 15 I must have mixed up the discs on at least 8 of them. I admit, it's not fun to re-disc them, but after about the 4th one I had a good method. Han's Abloy paper helps A LOT since it shows the differn't coded discs, and the key cuts, so you can pretty much match them up by eye.
I'm definitely glad it happened, because I would have had to learn how to do it one day.
As for the problem you had removing the core, I hadn't had that at all..... but I have heard of quite a few people having the problem. I kind of wish I did, so I would know how to answer the question as I still am not sure why they tend to get stuck..... there's nothing there to cause it as far as I can see since the core has to go in some how when it's made?! most strange.
