When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.
Great idea. They might be a little thick but that can be ground down. They probably are great spring steel.
Nothing is foolproof to a talented fool. Wisdom is not just in determining how to do something, but also includes determining whether it should be done at all.
lawn rakes come in expensive and cheap, the cheap are more useful for pickmaking as the tines are not as thick. The steel varies but all of it can be hard and tempered, the hardened parts can be very difficult to work except with a grinder.
picked one up at Walmart for 6 bucks! My wife asked me why we needed another rake. She looked at me pretty cross eyed when I said I just needed the metal.
Is there a way to test the metal rake to see if it is spring steel or not? I bought a rake years ago to do this exact thing but the metal turned out to be soft aluminum or something that bends too easily.
