I am interested in reading up on the Medecoder but the link is either broken or no longer exists. If there is another way to access this would you please let me know?
Thanks!

Ok, so i had to give it a go.... Heres what i found.

1. Use an ACE Craft knife, #2024784... Same dimensions as an Xacto but has 4 jaws so centers the wire
2. Try and find someone who has already built one for the .020 wire. Its not expensive but you need to order 5 packs of 5 pieces in 3ft lengths from ACE... I still have 74' 6" of piano wire left over  PM me if you want me to mail a few 6" pieces to you.
3. The vertical part of the wire needs to be short enough to pass under a low cut and still be able to reach the groove.. this was not possible with the lock i had.
4. The wire is tool flexible so reinforce the horizontal section with a couple more lengths and super glue it.
5. Practice is probably needed, its really tricky to keep tension with one hand and use the tool in the other, i got frustrated with it after 15 mins and gave up on it.
6. If you have access to a lathe, use it... makes the scale really easy and precise

Anyways heres the attempt... I had 6 pins on my mind and somehow translated that to 6 equal spacings of .17" so ended up with 7 lines on the scale.... Ill just pretend it was on purpose for when Medeco realease their 7 pin cylinder :)
