The ANCO blades have some of the widest inserts I've found (3-4mm). If buying them though, be sure to check first, as ANCO uses several different widths depending on what type of blade your getting. I'll also go to the local junkyard, but I've found the older/weathered inserts will crack/break
if bent at sharp angles. They work fine though, as many people will leave some space in between their pliers, which will give you a rounded, gradual bend. Personally, I like a tight, sharp 90 in mine, and the new inserts hold up better for this.

Good idea- think I'll try that. Funny how sometimes the simplest solution is overlooked.
