It says in the title - it is a Fichet 787. They have now been replaced by the newer Fichet F3D (there is a thread somewhere). A write up of the 787 is in my book (click on the signature).
that's just plain genious. I can't get over how secure that thing is. I don't get why lock manufacturers don't look at this and bow their heads in self disgust. I think some master/kaba/abloy engineer is probably out there somewhere going DUH! Decouple the bolt from the lock when it's not in use. Why didn't I think of that

It's a neat design, but let's not get carried away. This lock can be decoded and picked open in less than 3 minutes by someone with "minimal" training.
