At work we have just got a job to instal Salto locks on around 40 doors, this is the first time that I have heard of them but over the weekend I have been looking into them a little bit and it looks very good, kind of like Ving but being RFID instead of having to have a card, also what I really like about this product is that all the hardware to read the RFID tags and work the lock are in the furniture so they will be quicker to retro fit and also wont have the problem like Ving whereyou have to cut a huge chunk out of the door to fit the lock that can only be replaced with another Ving lock.
At the bottom I will put a link that explains Salto and how it works but quickly this is how I understand it, all the locks are stand alone and run off batterys, unlike Ving where to update the locks you have to go to each door to update the info with Salto all of this is done through the RFID tags where the tags are updated when the user passes through a "hot spot", to me this makes it very easy for the customer to use and monitor their security and also at a very good price, I have been told that it will work out to be around $1000 per door.
Has anyone here delt with this product before, I'm looking foward to being able to have a play around with it and see how it works.
