This is the sharpie I decided to use. It has a lot of interior space, is made of metal so it won't get flagged randomly by a metal detector, and the tip & cap still stay on to mimic that of an actual sharpie marker. BTW, to those who noticed the rubber band on the end, this wasn't on accident. This adds the makeshift "plug spinner" to the arsenal.

This is the tool completely broken apart. The tip is actually threaded so if you decide to remove the cap and tip as one, all you do is spin it counter clockwise. If you want to demonstrate the sharpie as an actual marker, just pull the cap straight off and the tip will stay on, concealing your lock pick set inside!
I managed to fit a VERY long tension wrench, a small xacto knife handle with approx 1 1/2" cut off, and 4 picks inside. Although, I haven't even scratched the surface on the space available. I think I could honestly fit 2-3x as many picks inside this thing.

Here is a pic of the cap being pulled off, mimicking the appearance of a real sharpie marker.

In order to make the cap & tip come off as one when twisted, you have to remove this piece, along with the marker sponge thing. Once this thing is removed, the cap & tip can be twisted off if you need to go right for your pick set, without the added step of removing the cap.

Here is a pic of the cap and tip removed. Notice how long the tension wrench is. it sticks out, but still managed to fit in under the tip when tightened down.

The tension wrench is the FIRST to go in and the LAST to come out, for everything to fit correctly.

This is the actual tool I pick with. It is simply the xacto knife with approx 1 1/2" cut off the end to fit. The pick tips were donated from an old chinese knockoff set I don't use anymore.
All in all, I think this is an AWESOME setup. I have to give a lot of credit to the OP for the original idea. In my setup, the sharpie marker functions solely as a carrying/concealing case. The xacto knife is all business.
If anyone else decides to do this setup, I think there is much more room for more picks and tension wrenches.
The only complain I have is that you do still hear some rattling from the picks. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this problem, please let me know!
