I'm a jeweller and silversmith from Ireland and I've been picking few fairly basic types of lock on and off over the past few years. I've got experience in working with a wide range of metals and may be able to offer advice/help with anyone working on making their own picks, especially if there are any complicated/very small scale jobs that anyone is struggling with. I can help as well with silver soldering and some cold joining techniques, and offer advice on where to purchase good metalworking tools and equipment.
Also, I've been thinking for a while that it might be worth attempting to make a decent curtain pick (and save £100) or even some other sort of mechanical picking tool, but I'm not entirely sure of the mechanics behind such tools. However, if anyone trying to make something specific and has photographs or a design done out but isn't sure how to get beyond that, I may be able to help.
First proper post by the way
