Key cloning help

Postby Jim-DIY » 7 Feb 2014 17:36

Hi there I own a medium size diy store & we have a key cutting section where we cut house & automotive keys. I've been approached by a local ford specialist that I cut a few keys for & he's asked me to supply him with chipped & programmed ford tibbe keys. I can get quite a lot of work from him but to be able to do this I would need to be able to clone his existing transponders. Can anyone advise me what type of cloning tool will program the ford chips. Any help appreciated, jim.

Do you have a cutter/duplicator that can cut disc detainer keys?

I have a cutter for the ford tibbe keys if that's what you mean.

That is, indeed, what I meant. :)

Unfortunately, can not help you with the chip programming, as no long work at Ford.

Good luck,

Gordon

Ok thanks anyway. I've spoke to a few people with the Bianchi copiers & they've told me their machines can do them but you have to use the electronic key heads. I'm just wanting to use the ordinary old style tibbe blue chip keys. Does anyone know of a machine that will do these ?

You need to use the programmable keys if you are trying to clone a working key... With the standard OEM keyblanks you cut the key and then have to use a programming tool with the vehicle's PIN number to add the new key to the vehicle's computer...

Thanks for the reply. I didn't know that I had to use the electronic heads to clone, I just thought that the blue/red chipped heads could be cloned.
