Key suddenly won't fit and powdery residue on lock.

So I know this is coming at the issue from the opposite side but I'm a girl living alone and really need the advice.

I got home from work today and tried to open the two locks to my back yard. One (a regular padlock) gave a little trouble but then opened. The other (a circular padlock - brand is Goldwall) won't even let the key slide in. The lock worked absolutely smoothly yesterday and the key is not bent or anything like that. Also, I can't figure out where this very faint blue powdery residue came from. Maybe it was always there and I just never noticed...

I jut wanted to see what others thought since I definitely don't feel very safe at the moment wondering what's going on.
Would massively appreciate if anyone tell me whether I'm being paranoid or rightly concerned.

Thank you!

I may be wrong here , but some vandals in my area have been putting blue locktite in a number of locks, and when dried it leaves a plastic like residue and some blue powdery stuff that shows up after the key has been run in and out a few from times trying to open the lock
It could be worse, they could have used another color that would have been much harder
to break loose.
This could be the cause, maybe not.

Can you post a couple of pictures of this powdery blue stuff on the lock on here. I'm curious to what the powder looks like.

the blue color could also be corrosion of any copper that in the lock as well...

when copper corrodes it's a blueish color

That would make sense if the lock was made of copper.
