extremely cheap locks for sale

Postby victorylocksmith » 27 Apr 2014 16:29

i would highly recommend going to MFS Supply for the cheapest KW1 keyed locks there are. in addition to this sell, dirt cheap lockboxes and have quarterly sales, lastly they also sell padlocks for a dollars.

ALSO! they get cheaper as you buy more in bulk as well, the current prices if you only buy them individually in small amounts is:

$4 deadbolts BRASS ONLY
$5.50 knobsets SILVER AND BRASS!!!!
$40 grade 2 commercial lever handle MEH, not that great
$12 lockbox
$2.40 padlocks

before anybody goes too crazy about paying, I WANT TO WARN EVERYONE, that this is by no means a great product. they can be rekeyed without falling apart but, i can snap these things open with my snap gun in one try. also much of the interior of the lock is plastic, and they use this messy grease that gets everywhere.

i think they have a flat rate of $20 and if you buy like $450 worth of their crap, they give you free shipping. however, on special quarterly sales, they give free shipping at only $200 worth of shopping.

They are definately cheap but their quality stuff does cost more. For example Supra lockbox $29.99
and kwikset bottom pins $4+. The imitation tylo locks are the cheapest I have seen tho! I sure wouldn't use the latch, free callback for sure.

Hey man, it's not like we are charging $$$ for $6< locks. If the latch fails, that's on them for being so cheap. It's like the one jerk who goes to the mechanic and doesn't believe it when he says the car needs are overhaul. He only gets a $20 crap oil change and then gets upset at you when his car dies on him.

Now if we charged the people $100 for a crap lock then......

I guess I do charge more, my clients do call me if the latch or any other part stops working within 30 days. And I go on back there and make sure it does work and fix it for free if it was something I worked on previously, unless I find some other thing wrong that caused it.

??? the only thing going on here, is making other people aware that MFS Supply sells cheap cheap crap. nobody here, is actually selling anything. if anything, i was joking around about how ridiculous MFS Supply is in general, and by ridiculous, i dont mean ridiculously good.

Is one locksmith telling other locksmiths (and wannabee locksmiths like myself) about business deals in the business section a violation?

i think global just didnt read the thread very well and got mislead from the title of the thread. lets get one thing straight, I AM NOT MFS SUPPLY! if i was, id probably be making $$$ for slinging absolute cheap crap, but instead, i am one of the poor schmucks that is forced to buy their cheap crap due to being broke.

I dont know how long you've been in business but if youre broke and still using elcheapo inventory, it means you dont value yourself or your customer too highly. This business is not just a job, it's a career. It is a lifestyle. Once a locksmith always a locksmith.

Start using and recommending quality products and toss the cheap arsed bastards (customers) to the curb. They are not worth the trouble or headache.

Have some pride man! In yourself and your business!

I just re-stocked on some Schlage B560x613 deadbolts and the retail cost is over $70
I don't think they are worth half that and I also bought some import copies of the same lock
that sell for $30. This way my client has a variety of choices, as I also stock Baldwin,ASSA and Medeco
I sell a Medeco lock a couple times a year, the import cheap crap sells far more often and it makes
my competition look bad, cause they only carry the expensive schlage locks, so my bill comes out to
less money. In 25 years of work in my area, I haven't once had a client be angry cause I saved them money
(except for when I use those import latches that break)
There are many ways to do good business and I'm soo glad to be self-employed, instead of having a monkey on my back, sucking the fruits of My labor, I mean a boss

Victory when you get the funds, you may enjoy buying a few of the more expensive brands, some clients want the same more expensive lock they might have on all their other doors plus, if you do make the sale on a $35 schlage lock and You are doubling your money, that's an easy extra $35. You get to know your clients, some won't spend to save their life, others demand the best they can get.

Key Sales & Supply's new flyer just arrived [ADMIN EDIT: SNIP! please do not type up entire sales fliers of businesses that do not pay to advertize here. Sharing a price with a fellow locksmith here and there is one thing, this is overboard. If you want to share supplier phone numbers, email addresses, and flyer pricing, send it to other members via Private Message, I'm sure these businesses dont want the general public knowing their locksmith only pricing either. I have sent you a PM as well - Squelchtone]
