Can anyone identify it? It's name or model? Or at least how many digits the combination would be?

It's a Simplex 1000 Series Knob
http://www.kaba-ilco.com/kaba-access-co ... -knob.html

The combination can be 1 to 5 keys and can be a combination of several keys pressed at the same time.

Why not just use your key to get in? 8)

A surprisingly large amount of these are still set on the combo they come from the factory set to. Just a statement to folks who
refuse to read instructions

+1 for that, Bosnianbill. It's amazing how many people leave themselves/their belongings vulnerable with factory or oversimplified combinations. To be honest, a lot of applications in the world of consumer security amaze me. If you're going to invest in something more than a master lock, at least do your part to make sure it's doing its best job for you. I recently had a girl that had locked her keys in her dorm room, and when I went to help, I found a brand new Medeco lock sitting in a door that could be quickly shimmed open. Who comes up with this stuff? Haha.

Sorry to hijack the thread temporarily, but I had to rant, and the OP's question is already answered.

BWAH! Sorry, Billdeserthills! Wrong Bill. If I had an edit function, I'd fix it.

If you have to open one, doesn't hurt to try that. Even so, they only have a little over 1000 possible combinations.

If you try to change the comb and pooch it, you lose the comb entirely and have to take it all apart to reset.

I had one where I was able to figure out the combo by looking at the cam pack under the comb while fiddling with combinations, it's not that hard to figure out.

OP hasn't even been here since the day of the original post. Some folks have no interest in being a member, they just see forums like they see Yahoo! Answers. I guess we should take it as a compliment to the ridiculous wealth of knowledge we have here in the form of existing posts, and the members who help answer questions.

You push the buttons that are furthest away from the gate in order and you have the combination. The ones already under the gate are not in the combination. If two buttons are the same distance from the gate they are pushed together.
