Hey guys,
I'm new to this forum and I need your help! I found this old safe and am having troubles picking it.

I've read a few guides on here and am pretty certain that this is a 5 or 6 lever lock. In this picture you can see through the keyhole and the levers at the bottom if it's clear enough.

If you guys have any specific tips or guides that I could follow that would be great. Thanks!

Do you just need it open or are you going to use it afterwords? Since it's a small container your best option could be to take it to a locksmith that work with safes. Get a quote to have a key made.

Your second option could be to try to pick it open. Have you ever picked a lever lock before? It's not that easy, but if you practice you may get it. Do you already have picks or are you going to buy or make them just to open this safe?

Good luck :)

If you've never picked before, this is not the lock to learn on, way to much lock for a beginner.

There is no trick we can give you to have it popped open in 5 minutes, and teaching you how to make a key for that over the internet would take us all a couple months time.

If you must get into it, take it to a locksmith and see if they can impression a key using their years of skill and experience. Otherwise, nice find, but no amount of tips or tutorials here are going to get you into it.

Hey thanks for the quick replies,

I do want to hold onto it afterwards, but not for using. More for picking. I don't want to go to the locksmith, the purpose of this is the fun of picking it.

I realize it won't happen overnight. I've already made a few keys out of bicycle spokes, and they can do the trick so far. I'm able to push all the levers while simultaneously putting tension on the bolt. Although the tension on the bolt is the part i'm least confident about. I can physically see the levers through the keyhole while i press them.

I'm definitely a beginner, but I'm good at this type of thing. Really good with my hands and spacial awareness. It's just a fun project so any info would be great! Thanks.

Thanks for moving this. I knew right after it posted I was in the wrong spot, but I couldn't move or delete the post.

Well, if you already have made some picks, play with them. Tensioning the bolt and lifting the levers is exactly lockpicking! Take your time, read some tutorial, and practice.

Good luck and let us know when you open it :)
